Vintage feathers for WNAC2016

I decided to try my hand at the WNAC2016 nail art challenge this month, as the themes, all based on 'Vintage' appealed to me. Vintage just sounds so romantic and damask pattern like 😄

First up its Vintage Feathers. I was racking my brain as to which way I would interpret this. I decided not to go literal, even though I just received the new Bundle Monster Festival plates, which I've been itching to use. This set has some amazing feather images, but I guess they will have to wait!

I ended up going with my UberChic The Far East - 02 plate. I've been meaning to use this more, so far I have only done one mani with this plate. I just adore the Asian themed plates. Maybe because I have a lot of Japanese themed tattoos! If you are ever interested in seeing them, I have a dragon and Koi mani with a picture of my tattoos, on my IG.

I started with a base of OPI My vampire is buff. This is a cool toned beige, and the formula is surprisingly good. I dabbed on some random acrylic paints, to give that aged effect. I wasn't really loving the base however, so stamped the fan style image from UC plate 9-01. It's subtle, but just added that bit of dimension.
The rest of the images are from UC plates Yay Spring and 6-03. I tried to go with different types of flowers, but all that  are of intricate patterns. The flowers are filled in with MDU Chocolate, and stamped with MDU Glass. It turned out slightly darker than I envisioned, but I still like it. I wanted something more faded, I should have used a lighter shade of blue. Anyway, next time!

Hope you like, and enjoy your weekend.

  2. I couldn't get here fast enough after peeking at these on IG!! And I'm so glad I got here - learning the steps you took was fascinating - every layer and detail you put into these worked out just perfectly. It' amazing how that first subtle stamping brightened up the design, but not so as you really know it until you look closely (or read about it here). And I just loooove the blue shade you used!! Such a gorgeous nail desing!!!

I've read quite a few posts...sorry I haven't commented till now...but, I'm trying to keep up with my goal of checking my bloglovin feed 1-2 times a week... :)
